This one-of-a-kind rug is made from wool and cotton using 100% traditional hand-weaving methods. Its warp and weft are cotton, while the knots are tied with wool yarns dyed using natural root dyes. For example, to achieve red tones, rose petals are boiled with the yarn, creating a rich and natural color finish. These naturally dyed rugs develop a more vibrant and glossy appearance over time.
Crafted with the Turkish knot technique (double knot), this rug has a high knot density and exceptional durability—often outlasting Persian rugs. Approximately 400,000 hand-tied knots were used in its weaving.

2. Historical Background
While inspired by the Sultani motif, this rug is part of a wider tradition of Turkish rug weaving, especially prominent during the Ottoman Empire. Such rugs were made for palaces and homes of high-ranking officials during the 16th and 17th centuries.

3. Cleaning Instructions
Due to the use of naturally dyed wool, chemical-based carpet shampoos or detergents should not be used. In case of spills, quickly blot the area with a paper towel. Then, lather white soap (non-chemical) with water and gently clean the affected area with a soft cloth.
Immediate response is key. If a spill remains too long, the stain may reach the foundation and become harder to remove.
