1. Product Features
This rug is handwoven with wool knots on a cotton warp and weft, crafted entirely by hand using the traditional kirman spindle technique. The wool yarns are dyed with natural root dyes—for example, red is achieved by boiling wool with rose petals. Rugs made with these natural dyes develop a richer and shinier appearance over time.
The rug is woven using the Turkish (double) knot technique, providing superior durability and a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Approximately 400,000 hand knots were tied during its creation.

Sultani rugs represent an important part of the Ottoman Empire’s rich carpet-weaving heritage. Primarily produced in the 16th and 17th centuries, they were used in Ottoman palaces and elite residences. These rugs are woven with great care and feature motifs such as flowers, trees, geometric patterns, and figurative symbols that reflect Ottoman cultural and artistic traditions.

Due to the use of natural dyes and wool, avoid chemical detergents or carpet shampoos. In case of spills, immediately blot with a paper towel, then gently clean the area with white soap foam and a soft cloth.
