1. Product Features
This rug is handwoven with wool knots on cotton warp and weft, crafted entirely by hand using the traditional kirman technique. The wool yarns are dyed with natural root dyes; for example, red color is achieved by boiling wool with rose petals. Rugs made with these natural dyes develop a richer, shinier look over time.
Woven using the Turkish (double) knot technique, this rug is highly durable and has a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Approximately 500,000 hand knots were tied during its making.

Sultani rugs are a significant part of the Ottoman Empire’s rich carpet-weaving heritage. Produced mainly in the 16th and 17th centuries, they were used in Ottoman palaces and important locations. These rugs feature motifs such as flowers, trees, geometric patterns, and figurative symbols, reflecting Ottoman cultural and artistic traditions.
