This premium handwoven rug features a cotton warp and weft with wool yarn knots, all crafted entirely by hand using the traditional kirman technique. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural root dyes. For instance, red shades are achieved by boiling the wool yarns with rose petals, which imparts a natural and vibrant color. Rugs made from root-dyed wool yarn gain a richer and shinier appearance with use.
