This rug’s warp and weft are cotton, and the knots are made of wool yarn. The yarns are entirely hand-spun using the traditional Kirman technique. The wool yarns used in the knots are dyed with natural dyes (root dyes). For example, to achieve the red color, wool yarns are boiled with rose petals, which impart their color to the yarns; yarns dyed this way are called root-dyed yarns. Rugs made from root-dyed yarns gain a more lustrous appearance over time with use.

Additionally, this rug is of top quality in terms of weaving density, crafted using the Turkish knot technique, also known as the double knot. This technique makes the rug more durable and gives it a longer lifespan compared to Persian rugs. Lastly, approximately 650,000 hand knots have been tied in this rug.
